How to create visualizations
Introducing Visualizations
When you're building datasets in BEEM, raw tables can tell a story—but sometimes that story needs a clearer voice. The new Visualizations feature lets you transform your dataset results into visual formats that make patterns, trends, and outliers immediately obvious. Instead of squinting at rows and columns, you can now view your data through bar charts, line charts, donuts, metrics, and other visual formats.
Visualizations also makes debugging your queries simpler. Seeing your results visually can quickly reveal data quality issues, unexpected nulls, or calculation errors that might be harder to catch in a table view. Spot revenue trends at a glance, compare performance across regions instantly, or track key metrics without hunting through numbers.
Once you've built and validated your dataset, you can select these same visualizations when building dashboards. This streamlines your workflow—the visual format you use to test and refine your data becomes the same one your stakeholders see in the final dashboard.
Step-by-step process on how to setup visualizations:
- Choose the dataset of your choice and go to the dataset editor screen
- Expand the Preview Pane at the bottom of the screen
- Click on the [ + Create Visualization ] tab button on the right hand portion of the preview pane bar
- Give your visualization a unique name
- Select the type of visualization you want to build
- Configure the different parameters based on the visualization you have selected
- Click submit once you are done configuring it
- The visualization will now always appear in the preview pane as a new tab
