Custom Data Residency and Multiple Data Regions
BEEM supports custom data residency requirements and multiple data regions for organizations with specific geographic or regulatory data storage needs.
Availability
Custom Data Residency and Multiple Data Regions are available on the Enterprise plan.
Step 1: Understand Default Data Residency
- By default, all BEEM environments are hosted on AWS ca-central-1 (Canada)
- Each client has a dedicated cloud environment — your data is never shared with other organizations
- Data at rest and in transit is encrypted
Step 2: Request a Custom Data Region
- Contact support@beemdata.com or your BEEM account manager
- Specify your requirements:
- Preferred AWS region (e.g., us-east-1, eu-west-1, ap-southeast-1)
- Regulatory requirements driving the choice (GDPR, data sovereignty laws, etc.)
- Expected data volume and usage patterns
- The BEEM team provisions a dedicated environment in your chosen region
Step 3: Multiple Regions (If Needed)
- Enterprise clients can operate across multiple data regions simultaneously
- Each region contains a fully independent BEEM environment
- Use cases include:
- Keeping European data in an EU region for GDPR compliance
- Keeping Canadian data in ca-central-1 for PIPEDA compliance
- Separating data by business unit geography
- Work with the BEEM team to architect the multi-region setup
Step 4: Verify Your Data Residency
- Open Settings in the left sidebar
- Review your organization's infrastructure details
- Confirm the AWS region matches your requirements
- All connections, datasets, and storage operate within your designated region
Compliance Standards
| Standard | Status |
