Cloud Connect: Secure Cloud-to-Cloud Networking
Cloud Connect provides a secure, private network link between your existing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and your dedicated BEEM environment. No data travels over the public internet.
Availability
Cloud Connect is available on all pricing tiers (Essentials, Pro, Enterprise).
Step 1: Identify Your Cloud Environment
- Determine which cloud provider hosts your data:
- AWS (VPC Peering or PrivateLink)
- Microsoft Azure (VNet Peering)
- Google Cloud Platform (VPC Peering)
- Note your cloud region and network CIDR ranges
- Identify the resources BEEM needs to access (databases, storage buckets, APIs)
Step 2: Contact BEEM to Initiate
- Send your cloud environment details to support@beemdata.com or your BEEM account manager
- Provide:
- Cloud provider and region
- Account/subscription/project ID
- VPC or VNet ID and CIDR range
- Resources to connect
- The BEEM team initiates the peering or private link request
Step 3: Accept the Connection on Your Side
- You will receive a peering or private link request in your cloud console
- Review and accept the request
- Update your route tables and security groups to allow traffic from the BEEM CIDR range
- Confirm connectivity with the BEEM team
Step 4: Validate Data Flow
- Once the connection is established, BEEM can access your cloud resources directly
- Create or update connections in BEEM to use the private endpoint
- Verify data flows in the Datalake
Key Benefits
- No public internet exposure: Data travels over private cloud backbone
- Low latency: Direct cloud-to-cloud connectivity
- Scalable bandwidth: Grows with your cloud infrastructure
- Works alongside VPN for hybrid environments
Common Use Cases
- Connecting to an existing Redshift, RDS, or Aurora database in your AWS account
- Accessing Azure SQL or Cosmos DB from your Azure subscription
- Pulling data from BigQuery or Cloud SQL in your GCP project
- Replicating S3 buckets or Azure Blob Storage privately
